Westwood is in the final stages of updating its Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) which was last adopted in early, 2000. In September 2017, the following members were appointed by the Board of Selectmen to serve on a committee to work on the preparation of an OSRP Update. The Committee undertook a multi-faceted approach to community engagement and outreach for this update in 2017 and 2018. On November 15, 2018, the Committee reviewed a draft and voted to forward the Draft Open Space and Recreation Plan to the Planning Board. The Planning Board opened the public hearing in December and held continued hearings in January and February. On February 26, 2019, the Planning Board approved the OSRP Plan revised through February 26 with a condition that the action plan be revised to match the changes made in the goals section.Open Space & Recreation Plan, Adopted by Planning Board on February 26, 2019 with Appendix - Conditionally approved by MA Department of Conservation and Recreation on July 10, 2019

The OSRP Steering Committee, staff and PGC Associates began working on this update in November 2017 and is expected to continue through 2018. More information regarding a survey, vision session, public meetings, updates, and all related information is forthcoming and will be available shortly.
