Common Victualler CV Licensing

Every food service establishment engaging in the business of preparing and/or providing food for seated patrons, on the premises, from a permanent structure, and subject to approvals from Town inspections of building, fire & health departments, must obtain a Common Victualler (CV) License issued by the Board of Selectmen, Local Licensing Authority (LLA), under M.G.L., Chapter 140, Section 2.  This license is issued and renewed annually with a fee of $50.

The Licensing Division processes all requests for new CV licenses, amendments to existing licenses and annual renewal of CV licenses.   New CV license applications require 30-60 days lead time to allow for legal advertising, abutters notification and a public hearing before the Board of Selectmen.
